LINE AND SHAPE
Describe the photos you took:
What is the distance in the shot? (How close or far away are you from your subject?)
-The distance in the shot of the tree on the bottom right is about 5 inches away. The reason you can see so much is because of the angle I chose to take the photo with.
What was your point of view when you took the photos? (from above, below, straight on...)Are your photographs horizontal or vertical?
-The photo of the fence in the upper middle was taken at an upper angle so you could feel the lines coming out of the screen and continuously going down. This was taken horizontally.
Did you consider the rule of thirds to compose your shots? In which photos? Describe.
-I did not consider the rule of thirds. The angles I wanted to capture of each individual photo would not allow me to follow the rule of thirds.
Which one of of your photos is a dynamic composition that successfully leads the viewer’s eye through the work?
- The photo that leads the viewers eye through the work would have to be the photo of the bricks in the upper left corner. This is because the angle comes out so the bricks look like they are coming out towards you on the right side leading to the next photo and so on and so forth.

PATTERN AND TEXTURE
Photo Questions:
What is the distance in the shot? (How close or far away are you from your subject?)
-The distance I am away from the bottom left corner photo is about an inch away. However, since I took the picture at an angle I was able to catch the pattern from a new perspective.
Is your photograph horizontal or vertical?
-My photos all range from horizontal and vertical. The photo in the middle row all the way to the right is vertical.
Which image may be overexposed? (too bright) Why? Which area/areas is/are too bright?
-The image in the middle row that is in the center may be considered over exposed due to the light areas of the object are a bright white as well as the background the object is laying on.
Is this photo an example of pattern, texture and/or rhythm? Explain.
-The photo in the top left is a photo of all different kinds of sea shells. This is an example of texture because since there is a variety of shells, there is a variety of grooves and ridges on the shells that you can see within the photo.
Does this photo follow the rule of thirds? Why or why not? (Describe)
- The photo in the top row middle is a photo of a brick wall. This represents a pattern. If the picture was cut into thirds it would show you that it follows the rule of thirds. It is also helpful that the lines on the brick wall can contribute to proving why this photo follows the rule of thirds.

11/1/18 RANDOM SHOOT
FAVORITE PHOTO
This is my favorite photo because it was a last minute put together and it is very unique. I love the mix of all the different shells with all the different textures, which is easily visible within each shell. The shells were arranged at random which I believe makes it more unique.
